laughton Posted 4 November , 2015 Share Posted 4 November , 2015 While looking for a specific Canadian Solider from Sheet 28 Sector C18-C19 in the CWGC Concentration of Graves files I cam across this British soldier found at 28.C18.a.5.7 with a partial number 33902. That puts the remains just south of St. Julien. http://archive.cloud.cwgc.org/archive/doc/doc1810074.JPG I had to go back to this a few minutes later when I say a number of other British Soldiers found in the same area: http://archive.cloud.cwgc.org/archive/doc/doc1810087.JPG This would suggest that the period of the burial was probably in the late July to mid August period of 1917. Not being all that familiar with British Military history, I don't have any details of what was going on in that area at that time, so I am passing this on to the GWF. There is only one British soldier with that number (the complete number being 339028) that is on the Ypres (Menin Gate) Memorial and that is: Private Albert Thomas White, RAMC 98th Field Ambulance Perhaps there is someone on the GWF that can dig into that case and see if there is additional information to confirm that soldier? Richard CANADA UPDATE: later in the same files there is an RAMC unknown in 11.AAA.13 also from 28.C18.c.3.9 http://archive.cloud.cwgc.org/archive/doc/doc1810119.JPG
