Gardenerbill Posted 27 October , 2015 Share Posted 27 October , 2015 Hello alkidi 1 welcome to the forum. If you click on this link it will take you to a thread with another link to online copies of the medical history, volume 4 covers Macedonia you may find something there: Medical History
MaureenE Posted 27 October , 2015 Share Posted 27 October , 2015 The volume mentioned by Gardenerbill above has some mentions of the Hospital at Bralo As an example https://archive.org/stream/medicalservicesg04macp#page/72/mode/2up/search/Bralo. At the time of posting, this website (archive.org) is down due to maintenance. There is a photograph of the rest camp at Bralo, but not the hospital, although there are photographs of other hospitals. The hospitals seem to be tents, or huts. There is a previous Great War thread called Salonika hospitals, which includes another photograph If you were willing to pay for some photograph copies, here are two catalogue references for which you can probably request copies. Imperial War Museums: The British military hospital at Bralo on the plain leading to the Gravia Pass. http://www.iwm.org.uk/collections/item/object/205022708 The Wellcome Library Two photographs of 49th Stationary Hospital at Bralo : Shelfmark: RAMC/1897:Box 397). http://wellcomelibrary.org. If you search using Bralo the reference comes up. Cheers Maureen
seaJane Posted 27 October , 2015 Share Posted 27 October , 2015 Just to flag up that, if it is for personal use or non-commercial research, the Wellcome's images are available to download free - http://wellcomelibrary.org/using-the-library/how-to/searching-wellcome-images/ (incidentally, Maureen, I couldn't get the reference by searching on Bralo. Am I missing something?) sJ

You could try another browser (which I know from other sites can give different results), or try a Google Search using 49th Stationary Hospital at Bralo, which give results for me. To clarify what is on the Wellcome Library website : This is a catalogue reference to photographs in its Archives, not actual online images. If the original poster Alexandros Kyriakidis wants copies, perhaps the fact that someone would have to find them in the Archives and then scan them would mean that there would be a cost involved. seaJane Posted 27 October , 2015 Share Posted 27 October , 2015 It's all a bit confusing what is free and what isn't! I'll have another look - thank you.
