Good Evening All.

About 5 years ago on one of our visits to the Somme area I found a shell fuse while walking a field, could someone help me identify it please. I have only just got around to cleaning it after all that time.

The description of it is as follows. It is part steel and part brass and has the following markings, from left to right. Gr Z 04 Sb 16, with a star shape at the end. I think it may be German. can anyone confirm this please.

Regards Andy.

From the markings it is indeed a German fuze, and one which was used on their High Explosive shells (for more details see this LINK here, you will need to scroll down)
