mikebriggs Posted 22 August , 2015 Share Posted 22 August , 2015 Dear all Just wondering if anyone knows when the first Ammonal Tubes were used by the BEF. I was looking through the War Diaries of the 139th Brigade and 46th North Midland Division and they record the (apparent?) first use (by this Division) during a raid by the Sherwood Foresters on 8/9th September. And apparently quite successful thanks Mike
ss002d6252 Posted 22 August , 2015 Share Posted 22 August , 2015 Is it any different to a Banaglore torpedo ?http://1914-1918.invisionzone.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=178888Suggestion is that the Indian troops were using them in 1914/15 so I presume they were being used by other troops at the same time if not soon after.
