Practice Trenches - Corsham

The Batters, a strip of wood land that runs along the railway line between Prospect and Brook Drive in Corsham, Wiltshire. It was used by the Scots Guards in 1915 for trench-digging practice before they went to the Front.

I used to play in this area as a child in the remains of the trenches and came across this photo today which I thought I would share.
