JOURNAL OF THE ROYAL NAVAL MEDICAL SERVICE

I am very very delighted to announce (with hearty thanks to the colleagues responsible) that the Journal of the Royal Naval Medical Service (JRNMS) is at last available online at archive.org!

Here: https://archive.org/search.php?query=JRNMS

(please note that the only search term that works on the archive.org front page at present is JRNMS, not the extended form).

As yet the searching capacity inside each volume seems limited - the whole set-up is still being built and will doubtless improve as time goes on.

To identify specific articles without using the search option, it's probably best to consult the index, which is available with an archive search option is here: http://www.jrnms.com. Some issues already have direct links to the archive.org site. Please note that the Great War is discussed and written about right through until the volumes of the late 1920s.

Yours happily,

sJ

Thank you. Page 472 of Vol one has a fascinating article on bullet wounds treated on HMS Sapphire the day after the landings at Gallipoli. Interesting comments on calibre and velocity and the varying impact of the Mauser v 0,45" Maxim v 1.0" Nordenfelts rounds.

Jane and Martin tx for posting this latest news. The archived edition of the JRAMC is great as you can search the entire mag which is essentially COMPLETELY online courtesy the BMJ!
