rolt968 Posted 24 July , 2015 Share Posted 24 July , 2015 His Majesty's Troop Ship? Trawlers were HMT, I think.
Uncle George Posted 24 July , 2015 Share Posted 24 July , 2015 Is it 'HMIS'? His Majesty's Indian Ship.
seaJane Posted 24 July , 2015 Share Posted 24 July , 2015 No, I'm fairly sure that would be R.I.M. (Royal Indian Marine) at this period

Guest Posted 14 December , 2018 Share Posted 14 December , 2018 HMTS stands for His Majesty’s Telegraph Ship. HMTS Alert is a WWI example of such a ship and was a part of the GPO but carried the HM title. HMTS Alert served a long career and was lost in in action in WWII.
