ssj Posted 21 June , 2015 Share Posted 21 June , 2015 Hi, Does the above correspond to a date of manufactuer? At the moment I only have some early pics, but it may have been scrubed of numbers by Parkerhale? Looks like an original barrel stamped ParkerHale with a serial number and has an "R" stamped on it. Trying to get more pics and info, thanks.
4thGordons Posted 21 June , 2015 Share Posted 21 June , 2015 I believe Remington Pattern 14 serial number 246494 would have been delivered in Feb/March of 1917. (based on MUN 5/189/1400/21) The Parker Hale stamping may indicate commercial refinishing/set up by Parker Hale for the civilian market or possibly results from WRS work by Parker Hale in 1939 where they refinished @21,000 rifles. Beerhunter Posted 22 June , 2015 Share Posted 22 June , 2015 "Targetised" P14s were extremely common on the Bisley ranges when I was (much) younger.
