2/2 London regiment

I'm trying identify the location of the 2/2 London regt on the 8th August 1918, which was the first day of the battle of Amiens which was the day my great great uncle was killed. any info on the actions of the 8th would be appreciated, thanks

The WD is rather sparce

"SAILLY-LE-SEC

Aug 6th- Battalion assembled in a valley running north of SAILLEY-LE-SEC , as Brigade Reserve.

MALARD WOOD

Aug 7/8th, Night- Battalion moved forward and reinforced remnants of 3rd and 2/4th Battalions in positions along the eastern edge of MALARD WOOD.

CHIPILLY RIDGE

Aug 8th, 7.30 pm- Battalion advanced and attacked positions on the RIDGE east of MALARD WOOD. Attack unsuccessful and battalion withdrew.

Aug 9th, 5.45pm- Battalion again attacked and reached all objectives, driving enemy from positions in LES CELESTINS WOOD, and capturing CHIPILLY RIDGE north of CHIPILLY.

Aug 10th- Battalion held captured positions until relieved.

Casualties: Officers 12, O.R. 272."
