trajan Posted 25 April , 2015 Share Posted 25 April , 2015 At http://1914-1918.invisionzone.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=146040&hl=radley#entry1400168 Shipping Steel posted a very nice looking P.1888 marked for Radley College OTC. Before it was locked I was able to post a link on that thread to the history of the Radley College OTC (my only connection to the place being that a recently-deceased uni mate was a master there!), but I have since then come across a nice P.1907, 11/08, Wilkinson, and HQR, marked for the same OTC - 'O.T.C. / RAD / 299 ' - but across rather than along the pommel. So, this new post just for the record on these things... I am in the process of negotiating with the vendor to allow me to post a photograph, so fingers crossed on that - but thought it perhaps useful to place it on record. trajan Posted 25 April , 2015 Author Share Posted 25 April , 2015 My thanks to John Carlin, owner of this piece, for his permission to reproduce the mark:- So not only a HQR but a clearance hole added! But no obvious 'inspection' marks (but it does seem that the ricassoes have been scrubbed) It seems that there are quite a few of these OTC examples around - I have a P.1913, 05/16/ Remington, marked to OUN/OTC/178, and which LF identified for me as Oundle School. LF, 4G, any others - were these OTU ones school property or what? How would they come onto the market?
