I came across 'Died on Service' from "Chemist and Druggist", a weekly industry publication, Vol. 90, no. 42 = no. 2021 (19 Oct. 1918) on Archive.org

Thanks for the links. They arrived just as I was looking for a Chemist who died at home in 1917!

Ralph Partridge from Swindon died of Meningitis 19 Jan 1917; unfortunately I can't find him so far but it's been an interesting search. I couldn't find a means of searching the site by text content (maybe that's just me) but for anyone else looking for people, when I was searching each document, found that it's best to search with "on service" as Died seems to be often mangled by the OCR programme.
