Lancashire Fusilier Posted 15 March , 2015 Share Posted 15 March , 2015 I can't work this one out at all - a 3 or 8, and L something I N? It is probably patently obvious but it is late here and I have been grading essays for two days and so I can't get my head around it... Trajan, As you say, it is very hard to read, however, there seems to be only one contender for that group of letters among the British Infantry Regiments, that is ' LEIN ' for The Prince of Wales' Leinster Regiment ? That is, assuming the second letter is an ' E ' ? Regards, LF
N White Posted 16 March , 2015 Share Posted 16 March , 2015 Looks like an E to me... Edit to add... you're a teacher, right? Maybe hit it with some chalk, see if it is easier to read.
trajan Posted 16 March , 2015 Author Share Posted 16 March , 2015 Thanks both - yes, Leinster fits the bill perfectly... And I see that they had no 8 Batt., so it is 3. IF I buy it, then I'll do the chalk thing - if I can find some chalk! Thanks again, Trajan
