James A Pratt III Posted 10 February , 2015 Share Posted 10 February , 2015 The February 2015 issue of Smithsonian magazine has an article on the Gallipoli campaign. Among the things discussed are the excavations going on. The Turks were "upset" that bottles of Bomonti beer, a popular beer of the period were found in Turkish trenches! After all Turks don't drink beer it must be the Germans says the current government of Turkey!? Note there were Austrian troops there too. The name of the article is "The Fatal Shore" by Joshua Hammer
