CROONAERT Posted 5 November , 2004 Share Posted 5 November , 2004 Remembering tonight 62309 Pte. Albert Henry Hemsley, 1/Canterbury Regiment who was KIA less than a week before the end of the war at Le Quesnoy. Son of Mrs.Hemsley of Nottingham, he was also the husband of Mrs.Jean R.Hemsley of Mt.Eden, Aukland, New Zealand. He is buried at the Cross Roads Cemetery, Fontain au Bois, France. Dave. (I'd be grateful if anyone has anything to add to Albert's "history", as I've now "bogged" down a little on info. on him)
Tom Morgan Posted 5 November , 2004 Share Posted 5 November , 2004 Well done for sticking with the research and remembering him on this day. You're a good man, Dave. Tom
CROONAERT Posted 2 December , 2004 Author Share Posted 2 December , 2004 Due to lack of (my own) knowledge on Albert and his Regiment. I've now purchased the Canterbury Regiment's regimental history 1914-18. If anyone needs a "look-up" from this history, let me know in the "Document Repositry" section of this forum where I've posted an "ad." for this history. Dave.
