Guest Posted 26 January , 2015 Share Posted 26 January , 2015 Hello - despite trawling the internet I can't find the answers to three very basic questions: 1. How many SWBs were issued? Ancestry has 882,674 and NMP has 882,666 so I guess it is close to either, but does this cover include the RN and RFC? 2. How Many SWBs were issued to the British Army? 3. How many SWBs were issued to the British Army's infantry? Apologies if this sounds too basic but I am looking for accurate figures. Thanks MG
Derek Black Posted 26 January , 2015 Share Posted 26 January , 2015 Good luck! With men being given the badge on the basis of their last unit served in, many infantry soldiers were on the Labour Corps rolls after transfer. Also not everyone entitled to the badge made a claim.
