It might by the way be better to (re)post your question under Soldiers, more chances of answers....I think. If you have a look here: http://www.documentsonline.nationalarchive...1&resultcount=1 and your grandfather's first name was David than this is most likely his Medal Index Card, which can be downloaded for £ 3.50.
