PhilB Posted 5 November , 2004 Share Posted 5 November , 2004 This is P21. Presume it`s the same class? Phil B
Michael Lowrey Posted 5 November , 2004 Share Posted 5 November , 2004 Phil, Yup, same class. The P-boats were intentionally designed to look like big submarines (low freeboard, sharply cutaway funnels, small turning circle). The idea was that they might be taken for an U-boat by a real U-boat, and be able to close near enough for a kill. All serve with Dover Patrol, Nore Local Defence Flotilla, or Portsmouth Escort Force. P 14 was built by Connell. Armament for the class: 4-inch gun, 40 mm gun, 2 14 inch torpedo tubes plus depth charges. Top speed: 20 knots. Best wishes, Michael
