juno-44 Posted 15 January , 2015 Share Posted 15 January , 2015 Hi, Does anyone recognize this haversack as being for a British Equipment Pattern? I has an inside division forming 2 compartments, a double button front closure and back compartment with single button closure. I see not markings on it beside what is writing on the front (Royal Flying Corps). Regards, Michel
Dave1418 Posted 15 January , 2015 Share Posted 15 January , 2015 Hi its a variation of the 03 haversack with the rear compartment for the plate, the front flap having the two button holes. The front has a button to fasten it although there are variations with a brass stud. regards Dave
Toby Brayley Posted 16 January , 2015 Share Posted 16 January , 2015 Nice example! Love the RFC unit markings. Mine has similar "graffiti" on it and I was dubious of it, yours gives me a bit more faith! Does your haversack have the emergency ration pouch? http://www.karkeeweb.com/patterns/1903/components/1903_haversacks_packs.html http://1914-1918.invisionzone.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=222870
