I am looking at the CWGC for

Pte George Gleadhall 3823

Provisional Battalion Devonshire Regiment

Died 30 December 1915on Holy Sepulchre Churchyard

Age 30

Died of Influenza

Can anybody help me

86 Provisional Battalion TF raised at Plymouth in Aug 1915 for Home Service only (LLT).

Soldier enlisted at Plymouth and was buried at home,Ashington, Northumberland.

No age seen and couldn't isolate him from a group of similar names mostly from the Yorkshire area. Will take another look now.

Edit: isolating a search to 1911 only there is a 19 year old male of this name born in Darnall,Yorkshire in 1892 and living in Sheffield in 1911.

The only hit.

I have looked at the burial book at Holy Sepulchre and he was 50 year old

that is all I have he died in VAD Hospital, Ashington of Influenza

Why was the 86 Provisional Battalion TF in the north of England

Any ideas
