Simon_Fielding Posted 11 January , 2015 Share Posted 11 January , 2015 Would be very grateful for any suggestions for resources or threads on the NZASC - particularly June 1917 - my subject was a Sergeant Jesse Wood died 11th June 1917 - his service file is is very helpful - but a bit vague on the details of operations the time. TIA!
Phil Evans Posted 11 January , 2015 Share Posted 11 January , 2015 Simon, Have you looked at the AIF war diaries? There is a NZ section right at the bottom, but there may also be something in the higher level AIF diaries in the Supplies & Transport section. TEW Posted 11 January , 2015 Share Posted 11 January , 2015 Presumably his record came from Archway? I would guess they'd have dairies. TEW

TEW Posted 11 January , 2015 Share Posted 11 January , 2015 Seems he was 2nd coy NZASC, holdings are 1918 to 1919 so perhaps no diaries for the right period. Report of death made by 4th Aust field ambulance. This report says he was with HQ Coy. ASC. TEW
TEW Posted 11 January , 2015 Share Posted 11 January , 2015 4th Aust field amb stationed at Kandahar farm 9th to 13th June 1917. Boyles farm also mentioned on 12th. TEW Fair bit of detail on locations of RAPs and loading posts in their diary.
