I am trying to trace my granddads war from his medal roll I know he was in the following regiments


Royal Field Artillery Bde 67 number 68473


Royal Irish Regiment 2R number 18626

Royal Inniskilling Bde7/8 Fusiliers number 42943



He was wounded but I know no more



Can anyone help maybe by informing me of when he may have joined the regiments

Hi Mandy,

Welcome to the GWF. Most people may be able to help by looking up various databases. It would be helpful if you could provide more information on 'your man' - such as name, rough age etc.

Thanks for the hint.

My granddads name was George Hennessey born in 1894 in Liverpool

I know his regiments and numbers are

Royal Field Artillery Bde 67 number 68473

Royal Irish Regiment 2R number 18626

Royal Inniskilling Bde7/8 Fusiliers number 42943

I also know he was wounded but don't know where or when

He received the three medals the French star was issued on 12/12/15

Any advice would be very welcome
