Pte. George Walker Posted 14 January , 2015 Author Share Posted 14 January , 2015 Hi All I have been trying to put together the end of George 3770 Walkers service with the 1/4 East Yorkshire Battalion after the battles at Martinpuich. I am told his new Army number says he was transferred into the Tank Corps, service no. 75952end of 1916 to 1917 only 3 or 4 months after the battle the was wounded in. I am trying to find a dressing station and or the wounded list for that time after Martinpuich, I have drawn a blank with the Hull Daily Mail newspaper and cant find anything regarding his wounded status at all. Can anyone help or tell me where to look. The times wounded list with the section for George below. Published 26/10/16.
phsvm Posted 15 January , 2015 Share Posted 15 January , 2015 This is in NO WAY a criticism of anyone on this forum - as you're already finding everyone is extremely generous with their time and knowledge - but if you are looking for more general 'genealogy' details and have queries another site that I have found is excellent for helping with those inevitable brick walls is the Who Do You Think You Are? forum. http://www.whodoyouthinkyouaremagazine.com/forum/

Pte. George Walker Posted 24 January , 2015 Author Share Posted 24 January , 2015 Thank you Sargeant got that now. Very nearly got all the info for the tour now, but no luck with the wounds. Its to remain a mystery I guess. I have just finished a book called A Band of Brigands if anyone is interested in Tanks, I found it interesting, The Tankers bible next! Thanks for all your help.
