Just curious what people thought about this book. I have done a search, and generally found very positive comments, though the book was a bit of a challenging read. I am just getting started with it, and have to admit I am getting the same impression that it will not be a 'quick read'.

Any comments? Thanks, Andy

A classic, in similar vein to 'First Day On The Somme' and I think inspired by it. One of my all-time favourite World War One books.

I am looking for a copy of this book. Would someone let me have the ISBN and publisher please?

Better still, does anyone know where I can obtain a copy?

Thanks,

Mark

Mark.....ISBN is 0-7183-0 and the publisher is William Kimber & Co, Limited, 100 Jermyn Street, London, SWIY 6EE. I bought mine here in the states, so I can't help you with "where?" Sorry.

G'day

It is surely one of the best book to read to understand the Human cost paid by British troops in the Somme battle 1916

Cheers
