Hi

The roll continues

PC J. H. HARVEY
Midland Railway Police.
PC HARVEY was a Second Lieutenant at the time of his death. (He died of wounds) No further information is known. Although there are seven men by the name of “J.H. Harvey” on listed at the Commonwealth War Graves Commission he is likely to be John Henry Harvey DCM. who was a Private in the Sherwood Foresters (Notts and Derby Regiment) He died in Iraq on 17th November 1918 (just a week after the armistice) He has no known grave but is commemorated on the Basra Memorial. Details of his Distinguished Conduct Medal are not known.
