rolt968 Posted 2 December , 2014 Share Posted 2 December , 2014 I have been curious why in one short period more men recruited in one Angus town joined 12 Royal Scots than the Black Watch.(Unfortunately I don't know either the exact date or the time period as the report comes from the local paper and I haven't yet worked out the time lag.) An idea occurred to me. The Royal Scots were (I think?) the only regiment with two battalions in 9 Division. Were the recruits being encouraged to join 12 Royal Scots to complete a K1 division? R.
