historydavid Posted 2 November , 2004 Share Posted 2 November , 2004 For our German experts On 17 December 1915 the German destroyer V191 ran into a minefield off Courland, Baltic and was sunk. She was accompanied by the light cruiser Bremen which also hit a mine. Does anyone know if the Bremen was also sunk or just damaged? I have seen both options quoted. Is there a casualty figure available for the Bremen? historydavid
Michael Lowrey Posted 2 November , 2004 Share Posted 2 November , 2004 Historydavid, SMS Bremen was in fact sunk at 57°31'N, 20°24'E December 17, 1915, along with the torpedo boat/destroyerV 191. The death toll on Bremen was 250; an additional 25 were lost on the V 191. Note that Bremen had recently completed a refit at the Imperial Dockyard, Wilhelmshaven in which she was partially rearmed with 150mm guns.
