My grandfather was in the 159th Siege Battery R G A and fought in Mesopotamia in October 1916

His war medals were never requested after the war and I now understand it is to late to claim them but could someone tell me what medals he would be entitled to

Is it the mutt and jeff or are there others.

You don't give your grandfather's name or rank. If he was an officer, then he would have had to apply for his medals, but if he served as "other ranks" then his medals would have been sent out as a matter of course to his last known address. Without knowing his name and rank it is difficult to know his exact entitlement, but one can assume, given his service in Mesopotamia, that he should have received the British War and Victory Medals at the least.
