Kathie Posted 26 October , 2014 Share Posted 26 October , 2014 Does anyone know the exact location of the Australian and South African hospitals? I have always assumed patients came boyhood by train and barge and we're then ambulances to hospitals. Which canal was used for barges? Any locations much appreciated Kathie
USAF Engineer Ret. Posted 21 February , 2018 Share Posted 21 February , 2018 I wanted to bring this back up to top. My grandfather was treated by 2nd Australian Stationary Hospital after his being wounded on 28 Sep 18 near Zillebeke Lake area of Belgium while serving with the 203rd Field Co, RE of the 35th Division. He was transported back to UK on 5 Oct 18. Was curious about exact location and info concerning staff there at that time. Thanks, Dave

USAF Engineer Ret. Posted 22 February , 2018 Share Posted 22 February , 2018 Thanks but did the 2nd Stationary Hospital merge with the 2nd General Hospital? Seems like during their time in Cairo they were separate units but during their time on the Western Front I only saw them referred to as only 2 AGH. My my grandfathers records showed him released from 2 Aus Sta Hosp on 5 Oct 18 for transport to England. Same place as Aus General Hospital?
