Martin Bennitt Posted 9 October , 2014 Share Posted 9 October , 2014 Interesting item on the BBC with then and now pictures of the brief campaign to capture Togoland and its long-range wireless station http://www.bbc.com/news/world-africa-29538569 Cheers Martin B
derekspiers Posted 15 December , 2015 Share Posted 15 December , 2015 Interesting. My GF served in Togoland and Cameroon actions in 1914-15. I am finding sources a bit thin on the ground when trying to research this more. He served with 50 company RGA based in Freetown Sierra Leone. greenman126 Posted 16 December , 2015 Share Posted 16 December , 2015 Interesting article - quite interested in this area. Travelling to West Africa next year to visit friends and talk about WW1 with them. Not much written but plenty of oral history. Will also be visiting some local bookshops to see if I can pick up any locally published work - will share anything interesting.
