Remembered Today:

Glover, James Anderson Capt KOSB

Can anyone identify the uniform.

James is known to have served in the Black Watch, and the King's Own Scottish Borderers but it is suggested uniform is neither of those.

The only likely other two possibilities from the info I have are

1. Edinburgh University Officer Training Corps

2. 8th Officer Cadet Battalion, stationed at Lychfield, prior to acquiring a Commission in the KOSB

The photo was taken in Edinburgh, I estimate early 1916.

James served in France for a limited period before being put on the retired list for health reasons.

Many thanks for ANY suggestions !

Looks distinctly like the old University Crest which was replaced with a nondescript ' Corporate Image ' to me.

The shield had the St Andrew Cross with the three tower castle of Edinburgh in the lower section and the thistle of Scotland in the upper.

Edinburgh University OTC.

Aye
