PhilB Posted 27 October , 2004 Share Posted 27 October , 2004 In the bibliography of Reconsidering Gallipoli (Jenny Macleod) reference is made to "Official but not history? Sir James Edmonds and the official history of the Great War" by David French, Journal of the RUSI for Defence Studies, March 1986. Has anyone read this piece? Care to comment? Terry_Reeves Posted 27 October , 2004 Share Posted 27 October , 2004 I do have a copy of the article, but I have not read it for some years. When I get the chance I will be happy to oblige. Terry Reeves

Bryn_Hammond Posted 29 October , 2004 Share Posted 29 October , 2004 Andrew Green's book on Writing the Official History makes reference to this and covers some of the same area - but from a different viewpoint.
PhilB Posted 29 October , 2004 Author Share Posted 29 October , 2004 Michael:- It`s interesting, but read rather like a university thesis. Why not borrow it from the library? 50p reservation fee? Phil B
