GGirl Posted 9 September , 2014 Share Posted 9 September , 2014 Wondering if someone can tell me at what time this would have been done? The map says trenches corrected to 7th October 1915. There are no other trenches drawn in on the map. Thank you
CROONAERT Posted 10 September , 2014 Share Posted 10 September , 2014 Map printed at some point around 14th October 1915, hand annotations done at some point after the beginning of December 1915. Is that what you mean? Dave
GGirl Posted 11 September , 2014 Author Share Posted 11 September , 2014 Sort of! The map has the date 7th October 1915 printed on it down the bottom- I just wondered when my G had drawn on the trenches ie when did this be the situation - December would fit in with the details I have .. Thank you just wanting to keep some notes that are based on correct knowledge.
CROONAERT Posted 11 September , 2014 Share Posted 11 September , 2014 Sort of! The map has the date 7th October 1915 printed on it down the bottom- That's the date that the trenches were corrected to (ie. from when the information from aerial photographs, surveys, etc came in) not the date of printing. The actual print date of maps would be anything up to a couple of weeks after that date (this time lapse speeded up as the war went on). Dave.
