Arthur born in clayhanger Brownhills Walsall.

He survived the war but I cannot find anything on him.

He was my grandfather.

The only info I have ( and its sketchy ) is he was a sergeant was overseas

suffered badly from being mustard gassed, I think maybe his records were

destroyed in the ww2 bombing raid.

Big thankyou to everyone who looked him up for me.

Mike

Do you know anything else about his service that may help identify him ?

I could not find a MiC for him on ancestry. You could look for one on National Archives website. If there is one there, it would show his number and regiment and medals awarded. If not, he could have served but not gone overseas.

Finding a MiC will not be conclusive unless his nok name and address is on the reverse.

If his brothers served and you can find info on them it may give you an idea of which regiment he served with as they may have joined up together.
