Hi Dave,

If its OK I have a look-up:

The actions of the Yorkshire Regiment that defended Bucquoy in March 1918.

I think they suffered quite badly, but wanted to get a sense of what they did as I am researching the Duke of Wellington's (West Riding) Regiment whom they were in the line with.

with thanks

Doogal.

I've found nothing specifically referring to Bucquoy for any of the battalions (though a couple were near). Any idea which one i should specifically be looking at?

Doogal.

Just had a thought. I was looking at 31st March as a reference (the date you gave in the Lincolns post). I realise that it is earlier in March that you want for this request.

I'll have another look tomorrow. In the meantime , here's part of the OH map showing positions in the morning of 28th March...

Doogal,

Bucquoy was heavily attacked on March 26th 1918 and defended by the 62nd division which included 1/5th, 2/4th, 2/5th, 2/6th and 2/7th battalions of the Duke of Wellingtons but no battalions of the Yorkshire Regiment were involved.
