Guest Trench Boezinge Posted 26 October , 2004 Share Posted 26 October , 2004 I live in Boezinge and sometimes I find little things in the fields. Like these buttons, can someone identify what buttons these are. N°1 : I found helping a friend with his garden in Ledegem (His grandfather was helping and told me it is a canadian button). Guest Trench Boezinge Posted 26 October , 2004 Share Posted 26 October , 2004 N° 2 : I found at the canalsite in Boezinge, it's as small as 10 eurocent piece, it is very thin, it has a small border and in the middle there is a stamped crown in. (I hope you can clearly see the crown)

Guest Trench Boezinge Posted 26 October , 2004 Share Posted 26 October , 2004 N° 5 : I found this 10 yards from my backyard in the open field at the surface. This is as big as 1 euro, it is 5 mm thick in the middle, there are 2 lions standing up against each other, between the 2 lions there is (sorry for my English I'll try to explain it) iron on the heels of the cavalryman (hope you got it, tell me the correct name if you know it), in that there is a cirkel with a cross, on the top of the circle there are 2 medieval masks on each other, like 'the Artists Rifles', beneath I see inscriptions "SAVE ENCRO'" or something, at the back of the button inscriptions " LONDON ..." Guest Trench Boezinge Posted 26 October , 2004 Share Posted 26 October , 2004 The live grenade is already gone, I put it on another pile of unexploded artillery rounds a little further on the road. Thanks again for the advice I really thought it was just a head, that's why I asked what it was. So for button N° 5 : Did every British soldier had the same buttons ?
