MJROB Posted 15 August , 2014 Share Posted 15 August , 2014 Dear All,I'm interested in tracking down pre-World War One recruiting figures for Ireland. Rather than overall figures, which I already have, I'm particularly interested in a pre-war breakdown of the various depots/areas/counties/regions in Ireland. Has anyone got any advice on where to get such figures?I know the Irish Times had such figures during the war, and was thinking (before purchasing a subscription) that maybe the newspaper also published figures before the war?Any advice would be warmly welcomed.Kindest regards,MJROB
BrendanLee Posted 17 August , 2014 Share Posted 17 August , 2014 No figures in the Times or the Independent or associated local newspapers. The article below, from the Irish Independent November 1913 states that the Army will start to use the Newspapers for recruiting in the new year (1914).
