What does it mean please?

John: These go by various names: Gallantry Cards, Card of Honour for Gallantry, Gallantry Diploma, etc. and were awarded by regimental, division and corps commanders for gallant acts not deemed appropriate for a formal award or decoration. Below is a scan of a Gallantry Card awarded by the GOC 29th Division to Lt Col E. R. Burne for gallantry at Cambrai.
