dobbin Posted 8 August , 2014 Share Posted 8 August , 2014 I am trying to trace this officer's records. I have searched the lists at the N A and I have looked on the Long List but this man is so far as I can see is not on the list. Could anyone please tell me where else I might be able to trace the documents assuming of course they actually exist.please.

BFBSM Posted 9 August , 2014 Share Posted 9 August , 2014 Just a little information I have gathered, (honing my search skills using the Forum posts is interesting).Casualty Lists on TheGenealogist.co.uk, show how long it could take for information to be disseminated in the UK after becoming a casualty: Forename J A Surname Bagnall Casualty Status Wounded Rank Sec. Lieut. Regiment Northumberland Fusiliers Daily List Date 25th September 1916 Category Officers Casualty Status Wounded Source Daily Casualty Lists http://www.thegenealogist.co.uk/search/advanced/military/casualty-lists/full/?id=1810600 Forename J A Surname Bagnall Casualty Status Previously Reported Wounded, Now Reported Killed Rank Sec. Lieut. Regiment Northumberland Fusiliers Daily List Date 2nd October 1916 Category Officers Casualty Status Previously Reported Wounded, Now Reported Killed Source Daily Casualty Lists http://www.thegenealogist.co.uk/search/advanced/military/casualty-lists/full/?id=2556516 I have also just noticed that the name on the MIC is not James Angus Bagnall, but John Angus Bagnall. Which corresponds with the CWGC record for the above details from TheGenealogist (which via a button at the end of the transcription takes you to the relevant CWGC record page). http://www.cwgc.org/find-war-dead/casualty/182834/BAGNALL,%20JOHN%20ANGUS Mark
