STANSGRANDS Posted 7 August , 2014 Share Posted 7 August , 2014 Hello would anyone know if there are copies of letters of death that were sent home to their next of kin
MaureenE Posted 7 August , 2014 Share Posted 7 August , 2014 I have not heard of such records. If you are after a record of death in India, you could try FamilySearch (free transcription of most of the record- you can apply for a free copy of the record, but takes some time) or Findmypast (free search, pay to see record image) Another source is the British Army Overseas records. Details on the FIBIS Fibiwiki page "Chaplains Returns" http://wiki.fibis.org/index.php/Chaplains_Returns. Free to search on Familyrelatives.com but first you must register. You can then apply from the GRO for a copy of a relevant record (charge applies) Cheers Maureen
