hen190782 Posted 31 July , 2014 Share Posted 31 July , 2014 Good Afternoon Trying to locate information on this man from Downpatrick, County Down, but do not have any associated info (e.g. census returns). I have located Medal Index Cards for three men called Robert Love serving with Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders but one of those died in the war leaving two possibilities: 2575, 6121, 303315 – Private later Corporal S/7247 – Private later Sergeant What is the significance of the "S" prefix? Does it indicate enlistment in a Service battalion? I would be grateful if anyone can identify whether either (but hopefully not both) of these men has a connection to Downpatrick or County Down. Thanks Nigel
