RodB Posted 26 July , 2014 Share Posted 26 July , 2014 With the hundredth anniversary of the war's outbreak approaching, I'm inviting anybody interested to help improve the articles on the British Empire's naval weapons deployed in the war. Artcles on mines and depth charges are totally absent, and details on how effective or otherwise a particular weapon proved in the war, and associated development info, issues and problems etc. is minimal in most articles. It would be good to have a proper story on each weapon rather than just the specs as at present in many cases. The template that appears at the end of each article, and hence attempts to constitute a list of all the weapons deployed, follows : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Template:GreatWarBritishNavalWeapons Links in red or black indicate that no article exists as yet. thanks Rod
amlovell Posted 30 July , 2014 Share Posted 30 July , 2014 Added more depth charges to your template: there were types A through G and a "Cruiser mine" (really, a depth charge) adapted from a spherical mine. Frankly, I wish my own weapons pages (guns, primarily) were up to the Wikipedia pages, but you're welcome to refer to my pages on the depth charges to start off those pages. tone
