Ive found my Grand Uncle MIC Sidney Puttick

can anybody tell me the meaning of his Reg Numbers

Royal Sussex Reg no 201508

and

Royal Sussex Reg no L/12452

I'm interest in what the L means.

Hi

Info taken from "The Collector and Researchers Guide to the Great War" by Howard Williamson.

L - ARMY - Found on Home Counties Regiments. No other information listed.

As for the numbers -New Serial Numbers allocated to 4th Royal Sussex Regiment were

200001-240000.

Being Six Figure *Territorial Force Numbers,replacing their previous 4 figure Numbers

His 5 Figure numbers suggests enlistment into a Kitchener Battalion
