David Ellis was a Welsh poet and Primitive Methodist from Corwen, Denbighshire who joined the Welsh Students Company RAMC early in 1916. The company was subsequently split up, though many of its members served in Salonika. He was the subject of a Welsh book by Alan Llwyd and Elwyn Edwards, David Ellis - Y Bardd A Gollwyd (Barddas publications, 1992). [David Ellis - The Bard Who Was Lost]. Served 36th Field Ambulance and disappeared on 14 June 1918. Well done. Cofiwn hwy. Clive
