piethrower Posted 8 July , 2014 Share Posted 8 July , 2014 Hi - I would really appreciate it if anyone can offer their views on the attached photo. I am trying to identify my Grandad's POW camp and hope that information on the uniforms in this shot could greatly assist. Thanks a lot.
FROGSMILE Posted 8 July , 2014 Share Posted 8 July , 2014 Hi - I would really appreciate it if anyone can offer their views on the attached photo. I am trying to identify my Grandad's POW camp and hope that information on the uniforms in this shot could greatly assist. Thanks a lot. A great mix of uniforms and, as well as British in both khaki SD (incl 'simplified jackets) and dyed SD, with coloured arm bands as POW identifiers, I can see French, Belgian and possibly, Greek and Italian uniforms, although I am not positive about the latter two. I imagine the date to be around 1916-17, but there is nothing to indicate location.
piethrower Posted 12 July , 2014 Author Share Posted 12 July , 2014 Thanks for the replies. Unfortunately there's no identifying marks on the photo's back. Any more info/thoughts on the uniforms would be great to know.
