Foreign VC plaques unveiled

An articles & a press release from UK.Gov about the unveiling today (26th June '14) at Lancaster House, by baroness Warsi, of the eleven plaques for the 175 foreign WW1 VC winners

Britain honours Belgian Victoria Cross recipient from the First World War

& Britain honours Overseas Heroes from the First World War

A document giving details of the plaques and profiles of some of the VC winners has also been published & is available as a pdf file (4.7Mb) 'WW1 Victoria Cross recipients from overseas'

Edited to read 'and profiles of some of the VC winners' above. As their bravery warrants it, a pity that more, if not all, weren't included.

A related article in today's Daily Telegraph: Foreign soldiers who fought trenches with the Tommies must not be forgotten, Cabinet minister says ('Honour the Tariqs as well as the Tommies says minister' in print version)
