Derek Black Posted 24 June , 2014 Share Posted 24 June , 2014 Agnes Dewar, one of my towns oldest residents recently turned 101. "According to Mrs Dewar her most exciting memory was of seeing a German zeppelin pass overhead in Edinburgh when she was around three years old, during the height of the First World War. An experience she found quite frightening because of the noise." I do tend to forget that just because there are no veterans left that doesn't mean there aren't still people around who remember the years of the great war Link
flintwich Posted 24 June , 2014 Share Posted 24 June , 2014 My grandmother, who turned 100 in March has also spoken of the Zeppelin. She lived in Dalkeith at the time.
