lea Posted 19 October , 2004 Share Posted 19 October , 2004 Would three years be an average or unusual period of time for the soldiers medals to be issued? According to my grandfathers records, War Medal Rolls, (as researched back in 1986 by The Army Medal Office) his VM and BWM were issued February 20th 1922. hmsk212 Posted 19 October , 2004 Share Posted 19 October , 2004 Hi Lea Most medals that I have researched appear to have been issued between 1922 & 1923 Steve

Guest Ian Bowbrick Posted 21 October , 2004 Share Posted 21 October , 2004 Lea, If you look at some of the supplementary rolls or the last roll for the BWM/Victory medal for Regt/Units you can find medals issued well into the 1930s. As Steve knows ( ), the last entry in the last MGC roll is an entry for a man who was issued his pair in 1940. Ian
