OK, I have Private John Thomas Hill, no 11338, N Staffs Reg with an MIC at the NA, so he served in WW1. On the measurements, will have to confirm height when I'm home this evening.

This cartridge case now measures 29.5cm high and measures 12cm across the mouth of the case, but bear in mind it may have been cut down as part of the conversion process.

Hmmm, also have a Pvt John Thomas Hill, no 31608, who died on 1st July 1917 with the North Staffs...
