He was born in 1885,In October 1918 his wife received notification that he had been badly gassed and had been sent to the Australian General Hospital in Rouen. Born 1885 Enlisted 15th August 1916, age 31 years 11 month's Address, 13 Victoria Terrace Rainhill, next of kin Catherine, married 5th October 1911, three children, James, Mary, and Joseph. 26th Reserve Battery R.F.A. Posted France 18th January 1917. Posted to 187th Brigade R.F.A. 19th March 1917 Appointed Bombardier 29th May 1917. Due to gassing transferred to class Z Army Reserve 23rd April 1919.
