jhill Posted 18 October , 2004 Share Posted 18 October , 2004 I have a vague recollection of a conversation with my Father many years ago, regarding the Canadians at Vimy Ridge can someone tell me please who relieved the Canadians after they took Vimy Ridge?. Regards Cliff. Well, the 5th (British) Division, one of whose brigades had taken part in the assault, relieved the 4th Canadian Division after the first few days, but the Canadian Corps as a whole stayed in the line more or less permanently (if I remember correctly!). They shuffled north and south a bit during the operations of the next few months, but I don't believe any Canadian Divisions were pulled back into reserve until October when they were to prepare for the Passchedaele show. Of course, someone here is bound to have to exact dates for everything!
